A 27-year-old woman from Essex, England, has been arrested on suspicion of neglecting a five-month-old baby boy who suffered a cardiac arrest at Legoland Windsor Resort. The incident occurred around 1 pm (local time) on Thursday. The infant was swiftly taken to a nearby hospital and remains in critical condition. The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was apprehended on Friday on suspicion of child neglect, resulting in unnecessary injury. She has since been released on bail until July 26.

“We are currently investigating a distressing incident involving a very young child at Legoland Windsor earlier this week. Our foremost concern is with the family of the boy, who is currently in critical condition in hospital following a cardiac arrest. We are extending our utmost support to them during this incredibly challenging time,” stated DC Zoe Eele of the Thames Valley Police’s child abuse investigation unit.

“We are collaborating closely with the team at Legoland Windsor Resort and are urging anyone who may have information about this incident, particularly those who were queuing for the Coastguard HQ boat ride between approximately 11:30 am and 12:45 pm, to come forward,” added the police officer.

Authorities have confirmed that they are not actively seeking any other suspects in connection with the incident.

In the meantime, the theme park has issued a statement acknowledging the incident: “On Thursday, a young guest fell ill… and our highly trained First Aid team promptly administered immediate care until the emergency services arrived. We remain fully committed to supporting Thames Valley Police with their ongoing investigation.”
