Meghan Markle is ‘done’ with the UK and the royal drama, claims royal expert

Meghan Markle has hinted that she has no plans to return to the UK anytime soon, a decision that some insiders within the royal circle are reportedly viewing positively.

While Prince Harry has confirmed his attendance at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8 for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, an event close to his heart, Meghan will not be accompanying him. Instead, she intends to join him in Nigeria later in the month for an official visit.

This decision aligns with Meghan’s pattern of avoiding visits to the UK. Her last trip was in 2022 for the Platinum Jubilee, an occasion marked by a less-than-warm reception, including some booing during the Service of Thanksgiving.

According to Richard Eden, a columnist for the Daily Mail, Meghan seems in no rush to return to Britain, a sentiment echoed by some who won’t lament her absence. Speculation suggests Meghan is keen to avoid potential negative receptions, such as the possibility of facing criticism at St. Paul’s.

Sources close to Meghan have indicated that she is “done” with the UK and wishes to steer clear of the drama associated with the royal family. Consequently, Prince Harry will make the solo journey to attend the service at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Following the service, Meghan will depart from Los Angeles to join Prince Harry in Nigeria. Their visit will include discussions with Nigerian leaders regarding the potential hosting of future Invictus Games events in the country.

Trust has emerged as a key consideration before Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet contemplate a return to the UK as a family unit. Rebuilding trust will likely require reconciliation between the Royal Family and the Sussexes. This issue may be addressed during Prince Harry’s personal discussions with King Charles in London next week, scheduled for Wednesday following the Invictus Games celebration at St. Paul’s Cathedral, coinciding with a charitable Buckingham Palace garden party.
