Everwild reportedly rebooted, now targeting the release date of 2024

Rare’s Everwild has “really rebooted”, and it will be a few moments before we get it, according to a new report.

The new Everwild IP was revealed by Rare at X019 but, following the release of two trailers for the title, the developer had quite strictly lying about the Xbox Exclusive since – with Everwild in real absence of the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021.

According to a report from VGC, it was because Everwild had been booted with a new creative director and the target of the 2024 release window was tentative, with the initial design of the game had “started from the start”.

VGC reported that the team that developed Everwild had struggled by defining “clear direction for the title”. Following the departure of the Creative Director Simon Woodroofe from the project last year, Veteran Rare Gregg Mayle has since been brought to lead Everwild’s development.

As a result of this change in leadership, the game has been reported to have rebooted with the 2024 target in mind.

“The team behind Everwild continues to form a truly magical experience and stay focused and eager to create new-centered games around the new world that is truly unique,” said the Rare Executive Producer Louise O’Connor, in a statement for VGC.

“Gregg Mayles joined us, at the end of last year as a creative director, and the team was never stronger. Since showing our eternal trailer world, we have made progress on all aspects of Everwild.

“The team continues to work hard to realize our vision and to bring natural wonders in Everwild to live for players around the world.”

Adventure in the sea while that

Even though it seems like the player will not start a trip to Everwild immediately, it is not the only rare title currently being worked on. The Sea Adventure of Pirate Thieves continues to grow, has an ambitious crossover with the Caribbean pirates announced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase at E3 2021.

The thieves passed 20 million players earlier this year because the game reached the third warning since it was launched in March 2018.

Rare has not officially confirmed that Everwild has been booted again, but we hope we will get a kind of update about the development of Xbox Exclusive in the near future.
