At this point, most players are probably familiar with the rocky launch of Cyberpunk 2077. The performance of the game in the latest generation consoles led to a surge in reimbursement requests, with Sony that eventually optimize to pull the game from The PlayStation store completely. Now, more than six months after the fact, both Sony and CD Projekt Red have confirmed that the game will return to the PlayStation store at the end of this month.
References to this were first seen in a regulatory disclosure presented by CD Projekt before Sony confirmed with Polygon that the game is making its return on June 21, 2021. Does that mean that the game is fixed? While undoubtedly in a better state of what was launched, Sony had a warning for PS4 players in the declaration issued to the polygon.
“Sie can confirm that Cyberpunk 2077 will be reviewed at PlayStation Store as of June 21,” said Sony spokesman, polygon. “Users will continue to experience performance problems with the PS4 edition, while CD Projekt network continues to improve stability on all platforms. Sie recommends playing the title in PS4 Pro or PS5 to get the best experience”.
Then, although Cyberpunk 2077 is making a great return to the PlayStation store, PlayStation 4 owners should still expect the game to do wrong. CD Projekt Red has delivered a couple of large patches to reinforce performance, but there is still work to be done. In fact, outside the two main patches that was sent at the beginning of the year, CD Projekt Red plans to spend 2021 delivering smaller updates with arrangements and optimizations.
The big question is if cyberpunk 2077 of cyberplunk or not to a truly solid state in the standard PS4 and Xbox One models. For now, console players should probably stay away unless they are on Xbox One X / PS4 Pro or current-gene consoles such as PS5 or Xbox Series X | S. We will inform you when you reveal more about Cyberpunk 2077, but for now, look for your reappearance at the PlayStation store next week.
