One more year and another WWDC from Apple has concluded, with the announcement for iOS 15, MacOS 12 Monterey, iPados 15 and more.
However, it also means the beginning of what can work with developers from this new announcement, and find out how they can implement these new features into their applications.
We followed up with three developers that we talked to from last week to find out what they had heard most to hear from WWDC.
Shortened from the term ‘application programming interface’, this is what developers use to make features for their applications. For example, the new Screentime API allows developers to have a choice of parental controls for users to choose from, while groupactivities allow new shareplay features to be used in other applications too.
Ben McCarthy, the Developer of the Obscura camera application, told us that while there was no night fire mode, there were several large increases in other areas. “Concurrency will quickly produce cleaning codes, the button is easier for style, and the purchase in the application is easier to handle.”
Becky Hansmeyer, Yarnbuddy and Scribblet developers, also praised Swift this year, the programming language introduced by Apple back in 2014. “I am happy to see many great extras for Swiftui this year, such as the original search bar, better accessibility support, and style New button. I was also very impressed with the Capture Object, which allows designers and developers to create photos of photorealistic 3D by taking a series of object photos from every corner. “He explained.
Shihab Mehboob, Vinyls developer, Aviary, and many more applications, is tempted to drop support for a longer iOS version for its applications, because there is already a substantial increase in how it encodes the application suite.
“I mentioned wanting a new Musickit Api, and we got it! Even though, it was just a re-arrangement of Apple Music Web fires before, and didn’t add anything new.” He told us. He has added several new features to Vinyls and Aviary. “Shazamkit is great! I’ve added it to my application vinyl to recognize external music and start playing it in the application.”
This fire allows Shazam applications to be built into applications with iOS 15 and above. There is also a new user interface function that has been added to Aviary. “New medium sheet detents are very good! I’ve added it to Aviary for a photo selector.”
Finally, Shihab was very happy that the focus and fire keyboard shortcut was official. “This is amazing. It saves me so much work I planned to do, but now I don’t need to do it. Again, he added to Aviary already, and it really will be done.”
